01 — THE CHALLENGE & PHILOSOPHY
bRANDING

The home fragrance category defaults to soft, interchangeable wellness aesthetics that sell vague moods rather than substance. ālv rejects this decoration-first approach, instead treating scent as a structural material—the invisible architecture of personal space and memory.

To bridge this gap, we designed a visual identity as structural as the product itself. Inspired by the geometric harmony of modern architecture, the system transitions from a bold full lockup to a minimalist symbol. By rooting the design language in the raw textures of glass, stone, and terracotta, ālv establishes a cohesive material system that turns daily routines into deliberate architectural rituals.

02 — Target Audience
bRANDING

The Space Curator

Values aesthetics, form, and object permanence over fast consumption.

The Ritual Seeker

Appreciates mindfulness and the tactile act of assembling their environment.

Adaptive Logo System

The adaptive system transitions from a bold full lockup to a minimalist symbol based on scale. The Full Lock-up incorporates phonetic notation, representing the brand’s archival and considered approach to scent. As the scale decreases, the system distills into a Wordmark for digital clarity, and finally into a standalone Symbol. The macron ( ˉ ) remains the constant visual anchor, preserving the brand’s essence across every environment.

(1) Out-of-Home

A minimal awareness moment designed to position the diffuser as an architectural object, not just a fragrance product.

(2) Lifestyle Direction

Warm, tactile imagery showing scent as part of a daily spatial ritual — quiet, material, and intentional.

(3) Printed Brand Collateral

A tactile identity system across letterheads, scent notes, business cards, and printed inserts — bringing editorial spacing and quiet typography into the brand’s physical touchpoints.
